This leather is so beautiful I wanted to redo my furniture. This full grain, oil pull up is the best I have ever seen (yes, it is Italian) , in a color that is warm and so soft it is luxurious. Thankfully, I have an antique chair ready to be recovered. The hides are huge (about 60 sq ft) so there is less waste.
At $299 per hide and free UPS ground shipping it's a steal!
It's so beautiful, I bought all the tannery had, but don't wait too long. Designer's have discovered my site and know that one Euro is worth about $9 US (so European goods are more costly) If you have your heart set on the best Italian leather, there will never be a better time.
The thickness is about 1.2mm or about 3 ounces per square foot. Perfect for upholstery, pillows, head boards...

Average size is about 60 square feet.

This is the same leather that the finest furniture manufacturers and upholsterers use, and retails for $8. a square and up.

Well now you can buy it at wholesale prices.

We have got quite a few of these gorgeous hides right now, but not for long I'm sure.

You don't need a special machine to sew this leather. All that is needed is a home style sewing machine, a leather needle and upholstery thread. (Available at any sewing store). A quilting foot or "walking foot" is also a nice thing to have. They sell for about $20. and are easily obtainable.

Here I have easily sewn three thickness together with my home machine.
